Friedrich Steinle ist seit 2009 Leiter des Fachgebiets Wissenschaftsgeschichte am Institut für Philosophie, Literatur-, Wissenschafts- & Technikgeschichte der TU Berlin. Seine Forschungsthemen umfassen die Geschichte und Philosophie des Experimentes, die historische Dynamik wissenschaftlicher Begriffe, die Geschichte der Elektrizität und der Elektrodynamik, die Geschichte der Farbenforschung im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert, die Geschichte methodologischer Begriffe der Wissenschaften (Naturgesetz, Fakt, …) und die neuen Perspektiven auf das Verhältnis von Wissenschaftsphilosophie und Wissenschaftsgeschichte.


Friedrich Steinle has been head of the Fachgebiet Wissenschaftsgeschichte (History of Science) at Institute of History and Philosophy of Science, Technology, and Literature, TU Berlin, since 2009. His research interests include the history and philosophy of experimentation, the historical dynamics of scientific concepts, the history of electricity and electrodynamics, the history of colour research in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the history of methodological concepts in the sciences (such as law of nature and fact) and new perspectives on the relationship between the philosophy of science and the history of science.
